What is officially confirmed
The official 1.0 announcement, published October 8, 2026, confirms online co-op for one to four players and highlights Storm Breach as a 1-4 player mode. Steam’s current app details list Co-op and Online Co-op for the PC release. These statements establish the supported play format; they do not establish cross-platform matchmaking.
Current co-op rules reference
The CapyDB multiplayer guide describes host-based peer-to-peer sessions. Players can split across explored rooms, and each player receives personal resource pickups. In boss and item rooms, the guide reports one Artifact per player. It also reports enemy-health multipliers of x1.5 with two players, x1.8 with three, and x2 with four.
The same source says Soul Shards are split and each player receives a weapon level-up room. A dead player becomes a ghost and can be revived. These rules make co-op a coordination problem rather than a simple multiplication of solo actions: players can gather separately, but they should agree on which resources, upgrades, and rooms the run needs next.
A practical four-player rhythm
At the start of a floor, agree on the route and the next resource target. One player can scout while the rest clear another room, but call out a shop, Faith Pillar, item room, or boss door before spending a key or leaving the floor. Personal pickup ownership reduces direct competition, yet a Crystal-dependent weapon, a Faith meter, or an Agent task can still make a resource valuable to one player.
When a weapon level-up room appears, let each player inspect their own choice. The weapon upgrades guide explains why an Affix that looks high-rarity may still be a poor fit. In a boss or item room, remember the one-Artifact-per-player rule reported by the secondary source and decide who benefits before opening the room.
If someone becomes a ghost, clear a safe space and announce the revive plan. The ghost should avoid turning a rescue into a second death. Against a boss, use the room layout and the boss progression guide to agree on the route condition before the encounter starts. Inexperienced groups can begin with the beginner guide and add route complexity after the basic health and room loop feels stable.
Platform and crossplay limits
The research pass found live PS5 and Switch storefront pages, and Steam lists the PC version. It did not find a first-party statement promising crossplay, cross-platform matchmaking, or cross-progression. CapyDB’s host-session description is useful for same-platform behavior, but it cannot prove that players on different platforms can join one another. Keep that distinction visible when planning a group.
Agents also change the co-op plan: James can carry two weapons, Lúcia has an extra Curio slot, and other Agents ask for resource states. See the Agent reference before assigning a role, and use the item synergy guide to compare competing Crystal, bomb, key, or health costs.
